1) I've revamped the Homepage navigation to streamline access to the FAQ, Contribute, and Additional Resources tabs. This redesign eliminates the need for users to navigate to separate webpages to explore these functions.
Now, all related webpages are conveniently accessible directly from the homepage, providing a comprehensive overview of available content without requiring multiple clicks.
2) I redesigned the Tool Landing Page so that it can fit on mobile devices. Additionally, I integrated a sidebar navigation menu throughout the website, granting users access to any page they desire from any location on the site.
I also incorporated pop-up notifications for every form submission made by a user.
3) At the mobile breakpoint, viewing the complete table of non-indigenous species on the Results Page becomes challenging due to its small and inaccessible layout. To enhance user accessibility and readability, I transformed each species profile into an individual section.
This modification ensures that users can effortlessly access and view information corresponding to each nonindigenous species, offering a more user-friendly experience.
4) To optimize the mobile-first approach, the Profile Page appeared excessively lengthy, risking information overload. To counter this, I implemented collapsible sections within each segment. This feature allows users to selectively expand and view the content they are interested in, preventing overwhelming amounts of information on a single screen.
Essentially, users have the flexibility to expand or collapse sections based on their preferences, thereby managing and controlling the content they wish to explore without feeling overwhelmed by a lengthy page.
5) To streamline the photo contribution process within the Contribute Photos tab, I integrated a user-friendly form directly on the website. By embedding this form, users can conveniently upload and submit their photos, eliminating the hassle of navigating to an alternate platform or using email for photo submissions.
This enhancement aims to provide a more user-centric experience, encouraging increased participation and ease of contribution for users interacting with the GLANSIS platform.
